Not every inspired message that comes through one of the prophets of the church is included in the Doctrine and Covenants, nor does every inspired message come through the prophet/president of the church.  The spirit of inspiration can come to whoever God chooses.  Some inspired messages of historical and spiritual significance are listed here.
