Here’s the latest list of conference resolutions for your consideration.  We will try to have at least one delegation meeting concerning the Tithing resolution in the next several weeks. More to follow.  Since there is a link on the church website, as shown below, I won’t send you any additional resolutions.

2016 World Conference Resolutions

The attached resolutions have been submitted to the World Conference after approval by mission center conferences, World Church quorums, or World Church teams that support the World Conference. These resolutions will be considered according to parliamentary procedures as defined in Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, 11th Edition and the standing rules of the 2016 World Conference.

Please share this information with delegates and members in your area. These resolutions can also be found online at www.CofChrist.org/2016-world-conference.

Pastors and Communications contacts:  note the information below about the April 30 work day.  We plan to start around 9:00am.

Please find a list of items needing attention at Camp Bountiful. We will try to address most of these on April 30^th, Camp Bountiful Work Day. If your congregation would like to volunteer to complete one of these items and/or donate the materials for them, let me know. Otherwise we will try to have the materials ready April 30^th. Feel free to go to CB and work other days when it is convenient for you. Just call or email Mark DiSantis, groundskeeper, so he will be aware. His phone number is 740-988-2373. This is a reminder of our meeting to be held March 6th at Shawnee congregation (4799 Spencerville Road, Lima) from 3:00 to 5:00pm.

Our agenda will include:

• Camp Bountiful financial discussion
• Scripture class/Scriptural literacy
• Copyrights
• 2016 congregation budgets
• 2015 congregation audits
• Congregational balance sheets
• MCFO signatures on accounts
• Long term oblation and alternatives
• Role of the recorder in congregations
• Recorder training (is there a need?)
• Priesthood retreat/Priesthood training
• Anything else you might like to discuss

CFO’s, if you have them, could you bring a copy of your 2016 budget and your 2015 congregation audit?

Recorders, you are invited to attend if you would like, as we will spend a little time discussing how to maintain some records and will also see if additional training is desired.

Lillian was a wonderful Youth Camp Counselor, Life Guard and Swim Teacher all during my camping years. I have a feeling there will be many who remember her. She was also very instrumental in the construction of Camp Bountiful. She was there and help with the Shelter House Fire Place even. We have put a notice in local paper, and the Herald. But the Herald article was late so we are waiting to see when it comes out.

We discussed this trip at our Feb. 21 Pastors, Counselors, etc., meeting and I said I would get more details.  Tom Grubaugh has provided the attached registration form which explains about everything.

Retreat is for Jr Hi and Sr Hi youth (and slightly younger,per the attached: May13-152016KirtlandTrip).  The only cost for those attending is their meals to and from Kirtland (2 meals). Meals at Kirtland, cost of the program with the Temple Visitor Center and cost of transportation will be covered by Western Ohio Mission Center youth funds.

You will note the Ohio folks are listed as departing from the Grove City congregation.  However, those from the northern Ohio area will leave from Toledo and go directly to Kirtland.  Karie Kutzly will coordinate transportation from there.

Please register with Tom Grubaugh prior to April 1.  Tom will coordinate with Bountiful Mission people, who are sponsoring the trip and who have invited us to join in.

I previously sent out registration information for the class at Shawnee.  We have just added a second class for Grove City, so I’ve combined both into one flyer.

Please encourage priesthood to take this course.  It’s greatly improved over our previous classes and it really helps in sermon preparation as well as overall understanding of scripture.

Hello,

I am sending this email to let you know that EGLMC is hosting a “Welcoming Latter-day Seeker” training event at the Kirtland Temple and Spiritual Formation Center on March 18-19. Training will be provided by Apostle Designate Lachlan Mackay. He is excited and we wanted to personally invite both Bountiful and Western Ohio MC to join us. We felt as decisions within the LDS church have been rather decisive and hard on some members, an opportunity to learn what it means to become a “Welcoming Latter-day Seeker” congregation” seemed appropriate.

The Shawnee congregation is hosting this new class on Saturday, February 27 and March 26. Time for both days is 9:00 to 5:00.  Please invite all in your congregation to this event.  Those who have taken the previous scripture class will still benefit from this material.

Written by Tony & Charmaine Chvala Smith, this course, SS 400, is very useful in:

• Personal scripture study
• Planning small group scripture study
• Sermon preparation
• Worship planning
• Overall understanding of scripture

The class consists of several video presentations from Tony & Charmaine plus study and discussion time.

Cost is $30 for the book and Temple School credit.  The books will be available around Feb. 8.

Please register with Vern Foster, vcf@fuse.net, and the book will be mailed to you, along with pre-class assignments.  Checks should be payable to WOMC and may be brought to the first day of class.

We just finished the first class in the mission center this month.  One participant responded “This course has definitely changed the way I prepare for sermons as well as read scripture.”
